Unlike Pompeii, which was smothered by ash, Herculaneum was struck by a superheated pyroclastic surge, a scorching cloud acting as an insulator, essentially flash-baking the city and retaining much of the organic material.
Headout is an authorized and trusted partner of the venue, offering curated experiences to enjoy this attraction.
Buried alongside Pompeii in the catastrophic Vesuvian eruption of 79 AD lies Herculaneum, a smaller yet more opulent Roman city.
The ruins at Herculaneum have several interesting attractions to visit, from ancient Roman houses to boat sheds and gymnasiums. Here's a map guide to getting around the ruins on your visit.
Located a little further from the House of the Charred Furniture, the House of Neptune was created as a tribute to the gods Neptune and Amphitrite. The primary attraction at the House of Neptune is a stunning glass mosaic wall featuring Neptune and his wife Amphitrite, with marble masks over it.
Considered one of the most magnificent villas in Herculaneum, this site gained fame due to the discovery of numerous papyrus scrolls that offer insights into the philosophical and intellectual rigor of the time. The Villa of the Papyri is thought to once have a vineyard and gardens, and has a direct view of the sea from its terraces.
The thermal baths date back to the 1st century BC and clearly demarcate separate areas for men and women. Once can still identify how the water was heated by a large, still-intact furnace.
Devotees of Emperor Augustus’ cult met here for their meetings and claimed it as their official seat. It is also identified by various frescos, famous ones portraying Hercules wrestling Achelous.
From all the excavation projects, the Samnite House was identified as one of the oldest aristocratic residences in Herculaneum. Of note is its beautiful flooring, rainwater pool and still-standing columns and pillars.
On this spot, one can find another grand villa in Herculaneum, facing the oceanside. These were decorated with statues of deer and large marble tables that one can find in the on-site museum as well. Notice the unique flooring of this villa, as it is covered with intricate mosaics, frescoes and marble chips.
One of the largest buildings to have been excavated in Herculaneum, this house features a relief of Telepho, son of Hercules, being cured by Achilles. This residence is believed to be owned by Roman senator Marco Nonio Balbo.
It was in this boat house that some 300 skeletons were found. The remains are thought to be of people who sought to flee Vesuvius’ wrath by the sea, but the heat got to them before they could escape.
You can expect to save 20 minutes to an hour of waiting time by booking priority access tickets. With these tickets, all you need to do is show your ticket at the entrance and begin your tour immediately.
Since Herculaneum is buried in historical wealth, walking the ruins with a tour guide or archeologist can help you understand the meaning and purpose of various houses, frescoes and mosaics and other remnants. So, paying the extra few bucks for a guided experience is absolutely worth it.
Although nothing quite tops a guided tour, you can still learn about the history and significance of the Herculaneum with audio guided tours like Herculaneum Skip-the-Line Tickets with Audio Guide. If you want to go the traditional route and explore on your own, make sure you do plenty of research before visiting so you can fully appreciate what you’re looking at.

Typically, those under 18 enter for free, as do members of the ICOM, people with disabilities and one companion, students and teachers enrolled in courses related to archeology, culture, history, conservation, etc. Groups, Ministry bodies, etc. are liable to receive concessions.
It depends on the ticket you choose to book. While some tickets offer a full refund on canceling tickets up to 48-72 hours in advance, for others there may be no refund available on cancelation. Please check before you make your reservation.
Yes, entry is free for people with disabilities and one companion, provided they offer proof of availing social support.
Yes, tourists can generally access all sites open to visitors, unless any specific monument or building is cordoned off for repair, like the Villa of the Papyri, for instance.
While not exactly hidden, definitely check out the Palestra that sprawls two terraces (here, ancient Romans engaged in physical sport and ball games). Also visit the House of the Wooden Partition which has sliding doors that still work on their hinges. Though not much to look at, you can also stop by the House of the Skeleton, known for the fact that a skeleton was discovered here in the 19th century. It now has faded mosaics.
Yes, Herculaneum is a popular day trip destination owing to its proximity to Naples. From Naples or Pompeii, book transfers to Herculaneum. To tour Herculaneum from Naples, you need just 3 hours, including travel time. Additionally, along with Herculaneum, you can even visit Mount Vesuvius if your ticket permits.
We had an amazing guide Luciano who was very funny and enjoyable to listen to. We learned a lot from his stories and he also brought a map full of pictures to help us visualize the story. The site is also very beautiful and it tells the story from millennia ago. The cats are a fun bonus!
The booking was easy and we liked the audio guide when we found the right section to listen to. However it was hard to navigate and auto played the next item which wasn't the next one on our route. A route guide for the audio would be helpful.
Quick and easy purchase of tickets to many sites and programs, plus it's paper free. We visited the archeological site of Herculaneum, a real gem near Neaples where we reconnected with the ancient ages of Italy. If you don't have that much time to go to Pompei, Herculanum is just for you.
You enter directly by scanning the QR code that is in the digital entrance. The audio guide is very good, but it is advisable to have a physical map of the archaeological site.
Tickets were easy to obtain. When we arrived at the Herculaneum site we were greeted by the check in lady. We were introduced to the Archaeologist Theresa who was brilliant. The tour started on time with the small group as was promised. We all had headsets and could hear Theresa clearly. Her enthusiasm for her chosen profession was inspiring. I'm so glad she was working with us. I would recommend Theresa and this tour to all who are interested even a little, in the Herculaneum site and its history. You will be drawn in and want to learn more. Herculaneum was the main reason I came to Italy. It was so worth while, I loved every minute. Thank you Theresa!!!
Clear and simple online transaction. The only (big) drawback is the audio guide! Not in its operation, but in its design. The numbers don't correspond to anything on site, you don't know where you are and the sequences follow one another without any significant pause!
Fascinating history, with detailed and engaging discussion by our very knowledgeable guide Antonella. In 2 hours we covered most highlights of the site, and were free to wander afterwards. We also visited the museum displays afterwards to see many artifacts such as pottery, jewelry, and household items which were recovered from Herculaneum. Walking around the archeological site the ancient paving stones are somewhat uneven, so one must walk carefully, but boardwalks in some areas are helpful. We used the Circumvesuviana train to and from Napoli to get to Ecology, from Garibaldi station.
Perfect direct entry with no lines, only the audio guide sales are difficult to carry, the numbers do not match when walking through the ruins.
The only problem is that the audio guide is difficult to follow. the audio guide is difficult to follow because the numbers do not coincide with reality.
Gennaro was an excellent guide. His knowledge is brilliant. He provided details clearly but also with humour. The site is fabulous.
The map and the special care they have of the city is wonderful. Smaller and more immersive than Pompeii.
Everything I liked about Herculaneum I wouldn't change a thing
Good historical location that was enjoyable for the whole family.
Interesting site, I wish I'd gone there before Pompeii & I'd recommend people to do that so you are not comparing them . Wasn't expecting too see the skeletons on the lower level! Bring your own food as there's only a snack machine
Touring Ercolano with an archaeologist makes all the difference. Sergio proved to be very informative and inspiring to the group following him. I highly recommend this tour as the site is much more preserved and possible to cover in two hours. The skeletons and frescoes of the Roman villas are impressive!
Everything was fine, the only negative point was the audio guide, which kept getting confused and each time you had to go into the application to find and try to find the right location for the explanations, and the location is not specified.
Enthusiastic guide, with clear loud voice. Knew a lot to tell and despite the heat, the tour was engaging until the end. Much more enjoyable and better than Pompeii.
Our tour guide Antonella was very friendly and knowledgable. Despite the hot weather she made us love every minute of the tour. Strongly reccommended.
We loved Herculaneum! Skip-th-line tickets were super convenient. We also purchased the audio guide, which we enjoyed as we could tour at our own pace. Wonderful!
The tickets worked perfectly - no queues and easy to use as a pdf attached to an email. The audio guide was rubbish very difficult to work out where you were and it just carried on to a new section at the end but never the right one. The information was often out of date mentioning things that were not there or not accessible. I would not recommend the audio guide at all
It was pretty quiet easy to get around. Really good quality experience as the ruins are very intact and easy to walk around. It's great to see the restoration happening in real time Love that there is a Nick Cave concert and a good use of the ruin
Quick access to the site, but even without a ticket, the queue at the cash desk would have been very long in the middle of the day. On the other hand, the digital audio-guide is not at all ergonomic, and it's very difficult to pinpoint where you are.
The site is incredible and very well preserved. However, the audio guide isn't great... nothing corresponds with what you're listening to, and that's a shame.
The information from the audio guide is very interesting, but there needs to be some sort of directions for getting through the ruins. I wound up standing and scouring the map to try and figure out where I was, and the 'stops' are not in a functional order, they're all on different streets. I managed fine after I got my bearings. Additionally, the map seems to work on location, recommending the nearest sight to you, but the location is inaccurate and instead kept popping up at inconvenient times, say when I was trying to open one clip and another popped up as recommended.
Luciano Leon was very knowledgeable and made the tour very interactive and interesting! The tour was great having an experienced archeologist showing us around
Dodge long ticket queues and explore one of the world's best-preserved ancient Roman cities at your own pace.

Our guide Edoardo, was kind and knowledgeable. He gave us the opportunity to learn about this very interesting reality of Herculaneum.

An exceptional site, not to be missed during a stay in Naples. Our guide Roberta was top-notch, fascinating, enriching and always smiling. We recommend
Gennaro was an excellent guide. His knowledge is brilliant. He provided details clearly but also with humour. The site is fabulous.
A passionate guide who shared her passion with us. It must be said that there were only four of us!

wonderful experience, the tour led by Francesco Longobardi was very interesting and comprehensive. It is an exciting place.
Herculaneum is a different experience than Pompeii, well worth the tour/visit. Our guide was very knowledgeable, giving deep history and comparisons to Pompeii as well as life of inhabitants.
Our guide's simple, understandable explanations. Little anecdotes without the impression of a boring history lesson.
Ticket purchase was really easy and good value. Our guide Lorenzo was really fantastic, full of humour and really knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
The guide was pleasant and knew quite a lot. His spoken English was- as he admitted himself several times- really not at the right level.
Our guide Luciano Leon was awesome! So passionate and knowledgeable. Do not hesitate to book a tour with these guides; they give you much more information and depth. This was the best tour of our Italy trip. Also extremely good booking service. We needed to change our reservation and they were so responsive.
An enjoyable and intimate tour with a very knowledgeable guide. Herculaneum was a highlight of our trip and a better experience than the crowds of Pompeii.
The guide Roberta was exceptional! We learned a lot, and the tour was very complete. All Roberta's explanations helped us really understand how Herculaneum worked back then. Thank you so much!
Fantastic tour with the very passionate and enthusiastic archaeologist Luciano Leone. With his stories you imagine yourself back in Roman life .
All went well until I could see I was running late and the contact number given was not available despite trying to call several times. I ended up having to call head office to contact them, all this being rather stressful for me as I was trying with difficulty to negotiate the railway system... perhaps a reminder could be sent on the day or the tour with a working telephone number in case of delay getting to the meeting point etc. I didn't want up hold the rest of the group and indeed I was able to catch them up at the site eithout too much delay. The guide was very informative and amusing though a little too obsessed with poop and pee etc! Also rather disparaging about other guides and tourist "idiots" and the "ugly" museum!😂. I think he thought we would all be amused by this but I'm not sure everyone was!! He is extremely knowledgeable and energetic and had plenty of excellent visual aids to illustrate various explanations and points he was making.
Flavia , very professional , with the first part of the visit in the museum , and passionate and fascinating We recommend her
I liked the picture showing where to pick the tickets up. Good comms and person meeting us was very helpful. The tour was amazing and very interseting.
Vicenzo was enormously knowledgeable and did an amazing job communicating that knowledge and passion for the material in an entertaining way. Absolutely amazing, would 100% recommend!
Our guide on the tour was passionate about the archaeology and explained the lifestyle of the people in a very informative and light-hearted manner, it was most enjoyable, thanks

The booking went really well, there was no overpriced surcharge. It would have been nice if I had also received a map when I showed my ticket. I didn't see it anywhere myself, but another visitor had one. The excavation site is similar to Pompeii - only smaller and generally less grandiose. The construction and layout of the houses is similar. Easy to traverse in 3 hours. Even on your own, if you want to get a taste of the atmosphere and understand the display boards with explanations in English. If you want more information, you should book a guide.
We love to see Di Ercolano. Was beautiful. more than beautiful. Great job all the work there. And tickets at headout is also great. we enjoy the fast entrance.
Easy to book, safe on the App and able to be saved as a screenshot. Open ticket for the whole day chosen so no pressure to get to venue at a specific time. Did get directed by staff direct to the entrance. Not sure there was much of a Queue but convenient. Amazing experience actually visiting Herculaneum. Not to be missed when visiting area. Direct local stopping train from Garibaldi rail station in Naples. Very cheap return ticket and regular service. From station straight down the road to entrance bit of a hill on the way back up. Definitely recommend at least 3/4 hrs to visit.
An incredible experience to walk the streets and experience the wonders of an ancient community. Stunning glimpses of the beautiful artwork and culture of the time. Absolutely amazing visiting Herculaneum.
The skeletons were amazing. I loved touring around and exploring this super well preserved old village. Amazing experience I would recommend to all!
Exceptional site 🤩🤩🤩 We spent 5 hours there and didn't see the time go by
No big crowds, such an amazing site
Speed simple to understand and use
Roman ruins in a magnificent state of preservation. A must visit.
I purchased tickets online skipping the queue, great experience
Buying tickets was easy. Herculaneum is not a large or busy site but still interesting. No crowds.
Fast and trouble-free entry, although no audioguide was included.
So much to explore. I felt like I got to walk back in time, into history. Make sure to give yourself enough time. I could have easily spent 8+ hours reading and exploring everything.
Audioguide was good. As the ruins are in a pit and no breeze can be felt in there, it felt like being in a frying pan ( I was there in July). Therefore it was good to have a small area with trees and loungers to sit and rest in the shadow. There was also a water tap, but the water probably wasn't potable, so bring your own water. The area to explore is much smaller than Pompeii, so it could fit better to those who are not interested to spend a long time exploring the ruins - in comparison, Pompeii is really huge. Some very well preserved mosaics and wall paintings. Less people than in Pompeii.
So, on a positive note - the ruins were really impressive and interesting, in some cases, with imagination, you could imagine yourself back in ancient Roman life. The audio guide was sometimes a bit confusing because you often couldn't find rooms or phalluses or frescoes because of the descriptions (this was the case for me and my wife), and some areas were blocked off. And I think that with the frequency of visitors you could also afford a proper café or a snack bar where you could get a glass of wine and a panini. Toast or something - like in the archaeological museum, for example.
Ticketing experience worked well although signage at the entrance wasn't particularly clear. €10 guide was confusing and didn't cover some important buildings. A paper map, with highlights, would have been useful. Museum was good. Refreshment facilities poor.
Herculaneum was absolutely amazing! Our tickets said that an App based audio tour was included and that we should download it before arrival, but there was no link to it in the information provided. I found an App for Herculaneum for 1.99€ but didn't know if it was genuine. When we arrived at Herculaneum the guy at the ticket office said he didn't know anything about an App but we could pay 10€ for an Audio tour. This needs to be clearer on the tickets. Several other reviews on Headout mention the same issue.
Very well preserved buildings and streets. The audio guide takes you back to Roman times. The skeletons at the bottom of the excavation are impressive.
The ticket provided access but when I booked it the information page indicated there was a audio guide to download but that was not an option with my ticket but that was not clear on the booking site.
Beautiful experience kind and professional staff the tickets perfect bravo compliments excavations Herculaneum fantastic
Great place to visit with very good explanation of all the places. A lot of history is to see. And they are still working to renovate and maintain. The catering was very poor. No restaurant. That coud be better.
It is impressive to have been able to visit Ercolano, although it is small, it is better preserved than Pompeii and being able to enjoy a small courtyard at the end of the visit was very comforting!
Amazing site, however there are no normal trains stopping at the the station from the Sorrento line trains. We thus had to change trains. There was also no signs to the sire from the statio. Lastly there were only machine purchase food and drinks at the site.
Francesco was an awesome guide. He was enthusiastic about showing us what makes the site special and he was able to answer all of our questions. It was the best tour experience that we have ever had. Highly recommend!
Nothing to complain about, we already had our tickets in PDF format on the laptop and we were straight home in a matter of minutes. It was great.

Pompeii was very beautiful, and I'm glad we got to experience it. Still had to wait in a bit of a line, however much shorter than the actual ticket line. It was busy, but there were some points where there was no one else near us. It made for good photo opportunities.
Go there. Fantastic. Bring water and walk slowly. Consider the official audio guide. Or use AI (like fx ChatGPT) for very precise guidance. Very hot June to August.
I purchased tickets long before my chosen day to go to Pompeii. The day I arrived I found out that admission was free as it was the first Sunday of the month. Or at any rate it was June 2. I contacted the site explaining the incident and within a few days they refunded me the full amount. I was very pleased. Congratulations. I will reuse this application as soon as I can.
Obviously it's good to save a bit by buying dual tickets. That said it seems a bit daft that at Pompeii you have to queue to change from a digital ticket to a paper one to get in. Surely this needs updating to save everyone time and money.
Was very hectic at the entry no real idea or signs as to what que to join. Qued for 30 min and ppl were buying tickets so we went to gate fir entry to be wild we had to exchange our online ticket and sent back in the que for another 40 min very badly organised saves no time buying online just 1 huge que ppl getting frustrated staff quire unhelpful n miserable I can understand why Pompei was amazing once we got in it has been a dream if mine to visit
Great day exploring two very unique UNESCO historical archealogical sites as part of our honeymoon in Italy! We started at the Herculaneum first thing in the morning and were among the first visitors for the day. This was awesome as we avoided lots of crowds and school groups as we explored the ruins and followed our own self guided tour. The preservation of the artefacts was phenomenal and we were able to see active digging/restoration as we explored. We then went to Pompeii in the afternoon and again enjoyed a walk through history following a self-guided audio tour through the ancient city. We weren't able to skip-the-line at Pompeii as advertised by the booking and had to join the general queue to get out tickets from the voucher. We drove to both sites and parking was easily found - even in the afternoon when it was quite busy at Pompeii.
The ticket collection can be confusing but ones you are in the correct line all went well. The site itself was amazing which we spent 6hrs taking in.
We loved everything. The shopping experience was easy and simple, what should be improved especially in this kind of places is the entrance. It doesn't make much sense to buy online and then wait in line if there is even a QR code. Other than that, perfect.
Exceptionally well kept and ptotected
Fantastic experience Excavation workers very nice.
It was an unforgettable experience) beautiful, interesting! Take Hats and shirts with you in June!)
Everything went very well. I bought the tickets to Pomnei without queuing and it is really worth it especially in the hot season.
It was easy to buy the tickets and once we figured out where we needed to go to pick them up, it was quite easy!
The perfectly preserved excavation sites in Pompeii...
I like the story very much
Tres beau site bien conserve interesant il etait tres en avance sur leur temps il leur manquait que internet
Fast entry. Everything went really well. We'd love to do it again.
It does not make sense since the same queue is made for those who do not have a ticket already purchased, and minors are charged when they are not charged at the box office. A fiasco
It was a shame that we couldn't download tickets for Pompeii. We had to join a huge queue. (20 mins) The online ticket office was not an online ticket office. However once reaching front of the queue all was fine.
It was so quick, easy and efficient to do . I was able to complete the purchase in the 5 minutes walk from train station to the pompeii scavi entrance
We didn't have to wait in line to buy tickets, we just showed the reservation number and we got the tickets right away. It worked out perfectly!
Went on a cloudy day with rain and thundet which was good - still hot but no sun to contend with and the small showers cooled you down! Unfortunately tickets I bought was not fast track so had to queue to exchange my online booking for a physical ticket - line was long so ended up waiting about 45 mins!!! Pompeii is huge so didn't manage it all even after 3 hours, but saw all the main parts. Could have done with a lift to get in and out as the slope just after the entrance was steep but with time and patience my 83 year old mum managed it! There's a cafe bang in the middle of the site which was a welcome relief. Also water refilling stations along the way too. Glad we went, we got the train which added to the adventure.
This was a once in a lifetime experience being able to walk around the ruins of Herculaneum. I was able to experience the history of this area and was completely submerged into all the facts across the ruins. There were so many delicate intricacies which have been preserved so well.
Well, we were able to exchange tickets at the porta marina ticket office. There is no priority queue but it is quick.
As promised, we quickly entered the Pompeii site through the lower gate after collecting our paper entrance ticket. There are several secure parking lots close to this gate. The site itself is truly magnificent and moving. We spent 6.5 hours there, and even then, we gave up on several areas! We didn't book the houses outside the main site. For children, we recommend the children's museum at Porta Sarno, which is well air-conditioned, full of felt-tip pens for drawing and not very crowded. Perhaps it lacks a play area for parents to relax while the little ones run around safely?

Excellent escort and the guide lello
Our guide was very knowledgeable and very informative. It was a good experience.
we took a daytrip from rome to nsples, we had purchased hurculaneum tour with roundtrip transportation from naples to the site and back to naples. Because we were instructed to be at our pickup location 20 min early than our pick up time we ended up waiting for over 1.5 hrs to find out our transportation was in traffic and would be even later. we cancelled our trip because we wouldnt have been back in enough time to catch our train back to rome.
The tour leader and driver are true professionals: we are satisfied +++. Punctuality, friendliness, commentary: perfect.
Herculaneum may not be as popular as Pompeii and is thus a tad less crowded. But the sights are more magnificent, in my opinion. So glad I could see it for myself
I was unaware of Pompeii's sister-town of Herculaneum and was thus, not as keen on this tour as my friend was. I take it back. The experience was so surreal.
Was hoping the tickets would have come with the package, but otherwise, it was an excellent day. An experience of a lifetime
Having just arrived at Naples, it was a blessing to have the tour bus come to pick us up. Hasslefree, comfortable ride taking us to see one of the acient marvels of time, all in less than a day.
If you do not have all day but still want a taste of history, I suggest you go for this. Worth every penny I paid for this.
My year old was never more attentive than during the tour. You are literally walking amongst the past, with the surroundings still perfectly preserved! Just lovely!

The good and efficient organization. The safe drivers. A little more time in Pompeii would be good as there is a lot to see. The introduction was a bit hectic but OK.
They charged me an extra 40€ because by mistake you gave me the ticket from Pompeii instead I had asked for it from Naples; 40€ paid to be able to leave from Naples moreover without any receipt
The service was great and the sites were out of this world. Highly recommended.
As so many others have mentioned, the only good thing about this tour was the transportation! The driver was perhaps the rudest person I've ever encountered while traveling (a person who voluntarily deals with tourists and still being this rude and inconsiderate, he honestly should be fired from this company!) Weather was unpredictable, which is beyond anyone's control, however, we were dropped off at Mt. V without being told that there was Zero visibility at the top or even being given the option to skip it, a total waste of an hour plus of our day. After the volcano, we were dropped off at Herculaneum. Far too much time was allowed for this location- it can be seen within an hour. By time we got to Pompeii, we were told that the buildings were going to be closed within 15 minutes. Having entered on the far end near the stadium, totally ruined our plan to see the highlights. We have actually been to Pompeii before and were very excited to be back, however this tour (or lack thereof) just ruined all we were excited about! DO NOT make the mistake that I did, I always take reviews with a grain of salt, but assume it of course cannot be that bad. Unfortunately this tour was the worst. We paid a good amount of money, which honestly we should have received a discount due to the bad weather or even a cancellation of the tour beforehand, we would have had a better day just doing our own thing! Would never recommend this tour for anyone, please go look elsewhere the tour and money spent will be better for you!
Very well organized trip, meeting points clear and easy to find. Enough time in each place to see everything. We highly recommend this activity, which allows you to see 3 emblematic places close to Naples in one day!
Places visited during this marathon day. Vesuvius, Heraclium and the incredible Pompeii. So vast.
This tour is basically a travel service between Pompei, Mt Vesuvius and Herculaneum. We were taken to Mt Vesuvius and left there - told to meet the bus at particular time. Considerable confusion about which bus to get on - driver very confused. Next we were dropped at Herculaneum with an audio guide that was totally separate to the Herculaneum numbers so when you played it, it didn't match where you were. Got back to bus at time we were told. Company miscounted number of participants so we had to sit and wait an extra 15 minutes. Driver was not happy and drove us back to Pompei in a very unsafe manner (130km/hr) on highway in a rickety minibus. Then we were left at Pompei with audio guide which had to be returned by 5.30 so you could get your ID back. An extremely disorganised company and too expensive to basically pay for transport and entry tickets. Enjoyed climbing Mt Vesuvius and wandering around Pompei and Herculaneum without audio guides.
Good transport and organisation. Unfortunately the audio guides did not correspond to the places in Erculaneum. In pompeii, it was intermittent. Overall they were amazing places to visit. This company get you to the places, take the hassle out of buying the tickets, and drive you safely back at the end of the day.
Very well organized day. We were able to visit all 3 sites, without having to rush for Herculanum and Mount Vesuvius. For pompei, they show us the places to visit and the time allotted. Don't forget good shoes, as you'll be walking a lot. The team was top-notch. They even spoke a little French, even though we weren't supposed to. Audioguide for herculanum and pompei in French. Very nice!
I didn't really go, I didn't make it to the bus, but I managed to contact the organizater and got my pompeii entrance ticket and used them to go on my own. 10/10 communication experience
Well accompanied and very complete
Very well organized. The tour was completely free, which was great! You just have to stick to the schedule.
The bus journeys between the locations went smoothly. The distribution of tickets also worked well. The time management in Pompeii was poor. We had planned 2 hours, which is very short for this place. It was the last stop of the tour between 3 and 5 PM. It must have taken 15 minutes to walk inside to the buildings. On this day, for reasons unknown to me, Pompeii closed at 5 PM and from 4 PM the buildings were cordoned off and could no longer be visited from the inside. The organizer did not inform us that the buildings would be closed off so early, nor did they reschedule the tour due to the closure of the complex at 5 PM and went to Pompeii first. As a result, we had the least time at the largest of the 3 sites, as we effectively only had 45 minutes for the buildings in Pompeii. In my opinion, this was a planning error on the part of the organizer. Pompeii as the first stop would have been necessary on this day in order to be able to see more of the buildings from the inside.
We bought a ticket believing it was with a guided tour. Instead we received audio guides that either did not work because it required WiFi and headphones (that we were not told to bring) or it was of poor quality. The same tour that we bought was offered at 20 euro less pr/ps. Through the driving company own website. We bought the ticket through this website because we thought we would get a guide.. that is what we expected due to the other reviews. I would definitely never recommend this
It is a bit chaotic. Firstly the Busses stopped like 10 Meters ahead of the meeting point, which let some confused if this are really the right busses. They couldve shouted like Vesuvio Tour here, but they just started reading out the names of the people which were sometimes hard to hear when standing at the back of the crowd. They didn't check a single ticket so anyone could've came and said they were me and they would've just took them. The first stop in Pompeii was good, they gave you clear instructions, you got an audio guide and a map and were told to meet at the meeting point at a certain time. I didn't use the audio guide so can't say anything about it. Then we went to Vesuvio, also there we were told to be back at a certain time. I was back few minutes before and thought that they call out the names again, but for some reason they didn't and there were 2 of their buses. I was there 5 minutes before but almost missed the bus because of that confusion. Then we went to the Heraculaneum site, where we could not enter because the guard there said it was too late to enter. We all had our tickets that we paid for already but the bus driver took us back to the starting point in Naples. We didn't get offered any refund, no apology, nothing. While Pompei and Vesuvio was great, I cannot recommend this tour if you only get 2/3 of what you pay.
The introduction by a team member to the tour was so bried and uninformative. There is no guide but a machine for Pompei. The content of this machine is minimal only 2 out of 10 monumenta have recorded information. As if this is not enough there was no guide no electronic recording for Herculeneum. And more over the driver left two of us at Herculeneum saying that we are not on the list!!!! Yes ! They left us at Herculeneum!!! At Vesuvio again no guide no electronic guide - the Volcanologist is on site for additionla tour and fee so not included at all. Basicly this is tour with no guide no working electronic recording and they leave you behind ! Certainly no one took responsibilty and no accountability.
I booked a GUIDED TOUR, and the description say GUIDED TOUR, and we got an audioguide that in Herculeanum didn't work at all. Plus in Pompeii we got another audiguide and we booked with you guys because it say GUIDED, we don't like audioguides Such a wait of money and time! Don't trust in this company

The tour was straightforward and didn't waste your time by running you through a presentation before or after trying to get you to purchase something. Fabio was very knowledgeable, patient and kind. It rained the day we went but I'd like to say it was more enjoyable that way as it didn't seem very crowded for a Friday. The train was perfect to get to and from as long as you don't mind the 10 minute walks.
Es war eine sehr kompetente informative Führung, die Gruppe war überschaubar, wir haben viel verstanden und viel gesehen.
